THE ZELLATON PHILOSOPHY:

A LEGACY PASSED THROUGH GENERATIONS. THE ZELLATON STORY BEGINS WITH DR. EMIL PODSZUS, A PHYSICIST BORN IN 1881 WHO EARNED HIS DOCTORATE UNDER NOBEL LAUREATE WALTHER NERNST . IN THE 1930S, DR. PODSZUS DEDICATED HIMSELF TO PERFECTING LOUDSPEAKER PERFORMANCE . HIS BREAKTHROUGH CAME FROM AN UNLIKELY SOURCE: WATCHING HIS WIFE BEAT EGG WHITES. THIS INSPIRED HIM TO CREATE A SANDWICH CONE CONSISTING OF AN ULTRA-LIGHT RIGID FOAM CORE (STILL MADE USING A SECRET FAMILY METHOD) SANDWICHED BETWEEN A FRONT SKIN OF ALUMINIUM FOIL (JUST 0.006MM THICK FOR THE TWEETER) AND A SPECIALLY TREATED PAPER BACKING

Generations of refinement. This revolutionary design was passed from Dr. Emil Podszus to his son Kurt, and today rests in the hands of his grandson, Manuel Podszus . Manuel, himself an engineer, has continued to develop the technology alongside business partner Michael Schwab . Unlike most brands that use off-the-shelf drivers, every Zellaton driver is "grown" by hand over several weeks, with a relatively high rejection rate ensuring only the finest examples are used

The sonic result. Zellaton drivers are incredibly light—the tweeter diaphragm weighs approximately 0.16 grams—yet exceptionally rigid, delivering an "ideal pulse response" . Remarkably, Zellaton remains one of the few manufacturers capable of achieving a unified tonal character across all frequency ranges, using drivers of identical structure and materials from top to bottom .
